Good news: The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University of Morocco has reached a cooperation agreement with Jupiter Mining on continuous pilot flotation columns
Mohammed VI University of Technology was initiated by King Mohammed VI of Morocco in 2009 and officially established in 2016. It is part of the Green City project advocated by him, aiming to promote sustainable development of the country through education and scientific research. The school has the largest supercomputer in Africa and is ranked 401-500 in the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
The school focuses on cutting-edge fields such as biomedicine and artificial intelligence, and its ISSB-P Research Institute (Institute of Biological and Medical Sciences) has been continuously promoting interdisciplinary research since its establishment in 2021. The African Advanced Forum on AI Technology Development, hosted in June 2024, facilitated the signing of the Rabat Consensus, which established the governance framework standards for artificial intelligence technology in Africa.
After multiple rounds of technical exchanges with Jumu Mining, both parties have decided to conduct experimental research using the flotation column developed by Jupiter Mining (JSYF-60).
The inflatable experimental flotation column produced by Jupiter Mining is a testing device that generates bubbles through the instantaneous explosion of high-pressure gas, especially suitable for fine-grained minerals with high dissociation degree. This device has developed a dual-mode test to address the industry pain point of high ore volume in flotation column testing. In the cyclic mode, the amount of flotation column test samples can be significantly reduced, solving the problem of difficult flotation column condition testing.
This type of experimental flotation column has the characteristics of good selection indicators, simple operation, easy maintenance, high degree of automation, and is particularly suitable for experimental research. It can be independently or combined as a set, and the flotation process can quickly change with different ores. The new experimental flotation column has been successfully applied in some research institutes and universities in China, and has received good market response.
